Greensboro, North Carolina

It rained on us all the way back from Pikeville and the Trick Tank tracks were pretty muddy all day Monday.  New York Dave and his crew followed us down to South Carolina and spent the week with us there.  There were several riders that couldn't wait for the track to dry out and they were out riding by noon.  Wil Markolf broke his collarbone after our school the weekend before.  On Monday, his brother Max broke his collarbone too.  Their dad Beau had to explain another broken bone to his wife.   The tracks dried out by Tuesday and I had a private lesson with a Canadian 65cc rider.  Everyone rode on Wednesday and I bladed the track some with the tractor.  It was pretty windy all week and the track dried out a lot.  Brock installed a new stereo and flat screen TV in Beau's trailer.  We were ready for the weekend and headed out for  Greensboro on Thursday around noon.  It was an easy two hour drive.  We parked at the hotel with New York Dave and just hung out.  Pam had flown in on Thursday and we went out to dinner to celebrate Valentines Day.  Friday morning Pam went to the arena to take care of her duties.  All the boys worked unload the truck and set up the track.  Max took the day off to rest his knee more.  I was lazy and tried to hang out, but as always, got elected to do some of that free work.

This was a two day event and everything got started on Saturday morning.  I got my computer all set up and I was ready for the show.  Max wasn't going to race, but we had Davey Sterritt from New York filling in.  The Pro turnout wasn't too bad and it looked good for the boys to make the night show easily.  They all rode fairly well and we got ready for the track party.  They signed a bunch of autographs and worked the crowd.  We were ready for some racing, or so we thought.  What looked like an easy night turned into something else.  Cory and Brock got terrible starts and couldn't make up any spots.  Chris and Davey both made the Lites main.  Davey made the AX main, but Chris was running in second place in the AX LCQ and hit a Tuf Block.  That ended his night for the AX class and a really good chance to get the 12 points he needs for his Supercross endorsement.  Both Davey and Chris rode okay in the main, but nothing spectacular.  The boys went to a party Saturday night and you would have to ask them about that.  Davey was the only one that rode on Sunday and he got a 4th in the Open Expert class.  The boys worked load out and we were loaded and ready to head West by 7pm.  Our next stop would be Jackson, Tennessee where we dropped Chris off to meet his brother.  He headed home to Memphis.  We then headed South to Red Bay, Alabama to get some warranty work done on the motorhome at the manufacturer.

After arriving at the factory, we spent the whole day in a maintenance bay while they performed the work.  Then we spent the night in the Tiffin campground.  There were so many motorhomes there, I thought I was at Loretta's.  The next day they finished up and we made the final leg back to Arkansas.   We dropped Max at the airport in Little Rock and he was headed home to Houston.  An hour or so later and we were back at Lost Creek Park.  Next stop was Breaux Bridge, Louisiana for our LL Qualifier.   After that we were headed up North to the cold country for the Arenacross final in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
